Our background
and experience

Hosting Power was born in 2015 as a department of OpenCom.

We are located in Arezzo, in Tuscany, just an hour drive from the
beautiful Florence. The core business of Hosting Power is the
coordination of incoming activities, related to the European projects
for VET, HE students and staff.

Hosting activity is located in Arezzo and is focused on matching high-
quality, tailored services and partners’ satisfaction. In 5 years we have
been hosting more than 1,000 participants.

Accommodation

OpenCom provides different types of accommodations,
according to the length of the projects and to the
students’ needs:

  • shared flats, all located in Arezzo city and well
    connected with public buses
  • hotels, located in the historical centre of the city and
    provided with all the comforts.

Placement

OpenCom is able to identify focused and flexible training programs, based on participants’ specific needs and expectations. In each company, students are constantly followed by a tutor who monitors learning achievement and results, cross-cutting competencies acquired and social inclusion. We work with more than 150 companies and the training areas are growing up year after year, according to partners’ requests and thanks to the variety of companies that characterizes our territory.

 

Tutoring

During the mobility, participants are supported by OpenCom
Staff, who accomplish the following goals:

  • to ensure that tasks and responsibilities assigned to
    participants by the company’s tutor match their previous
    knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as training
    objectives and learning outcomes;
  • to support participants in the social, cultural and linguistic
    inclusion in the hosting territory.

Language Course

We organize and provide Italian language courses, according to the level of
participants. Language courses are hosted by the University of Siena,
Department of Human Sciences and Intercultural Communication, located
in Arezzo.

Job-Shadowing

We organize Job-Shadowing visits, for all staff participants who want to
explore new working methods and methodologies, aiming at exchanging
good practices and updating their competencies and skills. Job-shadowing
mobilities involve schools, public entities, private companies and not for
profit organizations.

 

Arezzo

is an Italian city, chief town of the Province with the same name and it is located in the
heart of Tuscany. Arezzo is about 80 km (50 miles) southeast of Florence. The city has a
population of about 99.179 inhabitants, while the Province has 342.654 inhabitants.

  • Arezzo is easily reachable from the Airport of Pisa (2 hours), Florence (1 hour)
    Bologna (2 hours) and Rome (2 hours and half).
  • OpenCom can arrange transfers from the airport by private bus or minibus;
    otherwise, the city can be easily reached by train.
